Pianos, Superheros, N'at

Pianos, Superheros, n'at

What have I been up to lately?  Well, for one, several custom card orders have come my way.  Plus, I had several personal cards to make.  So, I thought I'd share both the photos and credit for my inspiration.

First, I received a request for a special friendship card for a musician.  I remembered seeing some piano cards on Pinterest, so I looked at them again.  There are a number of these ideas, but here is one of the examples that I used as a reference, by Peg Coombes.   I liked the use of the Top Note Die.  I made this card and really loved the outcome with the Cherry Cobbler red with black and white.

It even received approval from my musician husband.  And the customer and recipient were pleased as well.

Then, I received a second request for a card for a pianist.  This one is for a male birthday.  I wanted to try a larger card, and also decided to try a few different things to make it more masculine, with this result:

Now, on to Superheros!

I have a friend, who just turned 4, and loves superheroes, especially SpiderMan.  I am late in getting him a card and gift but finally got to it!  I had seen this excellent punch art card on Pinterest by Natasha Hein and knew it would be perfect.  I love how she layered the ovals for the legs to have Spidy "crouch."  Genius!
Here is my version, which is not quite as perfect but I think Noah will like it:

Next, October16th was Boss's Day.  I had been trying to think of a good idea for a card for our team to give our boss.  We had a group lunch last week and the conversation turned to Star Wars.
Ahhh, yes - that was it!  I recalled seeing some yoda cards - again, on Pinterest, of course.  So I located this idea/inspiration by Debbie Rippentrop.
I worked mostly from her original inspiration photo, although I borrowed several of her ideas for shapes and colors.  I chose to have yoda turned sideways like in the photo.  And I did additional drawing/shading on the face.  I think that the result is more realistic, but also a little scary.  So, it's probably better for an adult!
Here is the finished card:

The inside read "A hope, a great boss's day, you have."

So that's a quick update!  Keep me in mind next time you want a special, personal card!  I LOVE to create a customized card for any person or occasion!  Prices from $4.00-5.00 plus shipping/tax.
